Growing up, I always felt pressure to look a certain way, to present myself in a certain light. The media was constantly bombarding me with images of what beauty should be - flawless skin, perfect hair, and a slim figure. I spent years trying to conform to these standards, always feeling like I fell short. As a teenager, I was that string-bean with untamable curly hair which was always more cotton ball than curls.

As an adult woman, I still felt like that gawky teenager. I never felt beautiful.
But then I had a revelation. I realized that true beauty isn't about what you see on the outside, but rather what lies within. It's about the strength of your character, the kindness in your heart, and the integrity of your actions. I discovered that my inner beauty, my morals, ethics, and values were what truly defined me as a person.

One verse from the Bible that resonated with me during this time was Proverbs 31:29-31, which says, Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. This verse reminded me that external beauty is transient, but inner beauty, rooted in faith and righteousness, is everlasting.

As I shifted my focus from outward appearances to inner qualities, I found a sense of liberation and authenticity. I no longer felt the need to adhere to society's narrow definitions of beauty. Instead, I embraced my unique strengths and virtues, knowing that they were the true sources of my beauty. This is what lead me to compile the verses throughout the Bible that describe what true beauty is biblically. This is God's view of us. This is the most important thing to remember. It is not society that dictates our worth, HE is!

So, to anyone out there who may be struggling with societal expectations of beauty, I urge you to look within yourself. Embrace your inner strength, integrity, morals, ethics, and heart. Recognize that true beauty comes from being true to who you are and living according to God's values for your life.

Remember, you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and your beauty shines brightest when it radiates from within.

Each month the box is inspired by several items. We consider holidays, our scriptures, and how we can share our love for God. I love whimsical, bright-colored art. It's joyful. This month's box has an insulated wine glass with the above art. A vegan, organic, specially formulated super hydrating lotion that is paraben-free and also has the above art. A bath bomb and essential oil roller with a light rose fragrance.

While we focus on our inner beauty this month, it never hurts to do a little on the outside to match the inside. This was my driving purpose when I owned my salons. It comes naturally to some and others struggle to accentuate their natural features. We all have natural beauty features and just don't know how to highlight or downplay features. A great stylist can help you with this.
